Hey!
I am fascinated by people, technology, algorithms and the intersection of these things. When I'm offline, I enjoy art exhibitons, concerts and nature. I'm also nerdy about good coffee, let's have one?

About me and design
My love for digital design started early on, when I created custom themes and content for
blogging platforms, using markdown, HTML and Gimp. Since then, the internet continues to be a
massive
accelerator
and merger for my creative and pop-cultural interests and has enabled me to explore them in
unlimited
ways.
With a deep interest in typography and visual communication, I started studying
graphic design for one year, before making the switch to the interaction design course of my
university. The goal of my design shifted towards building useful and lovable tools for users in the
real world. Further, I wanted to extend my knowledge and learn how to utilize design thinking and
computational methodology to create. In 2020 I've graduated with a BA in Interaction Design.
Since then, I have gained experience by working with small and medium scale start-ups, corporates,
consultancies and brilliant individuals β which I am very grateful for.

My design process is constantly changing to adapt to the fast developments of technology,
society
and
challenges that come with these developments. I don't believe in an universal
solution
for design or design thinking projects, but rather an analytical approach where I pick the best
tools
for the each project.
I found the following quote by
Denning
and Tedre great for summarising my understanding of
design in the context of innovative
technology:
βThe design way of computational thinking also emphasizes the construction of virtual worlds in which users can inhibit and achieve some purpose that is meaningful to them. It success measures are assessments of satisfaction and quality by users.β
I'm influenced by the design philosophy of my university that encouraged me to act passionate,
rational
and responsible as a designer.
During my internships, I've internalized the tremendous value of
interdisciplinary teams and learned about the magic of stakeholder management and workshops to
communicate the business value of design and to understand client requirements to launch
successful
products together.
My job is done, when all parts of an experience work together and everything
magical snaps into
place, ultimately making the design work invisible to the user.
Most importantly, I'm staying curious.
Service and User Experience Design
To me, Service Design can be defined as creating and bundling the concepts, resources and
strategies
that then enable experiences from all involved disciplines. The user journey covered by Service
Design
might start years before even getting in contact with the designed product.
User Experience Design needs to put the user at the heart of the experience. It needs to
consider
all aspects of the user's interaction with the brand, service or product to make the designed
actually
match their needs and fit into their life.
Interaction Design
Interaction Design is that very moment of the multidirectional interaction between the user and
the
product touchpoint. This is the moment of joy of use, of surprise and delight, that makes you
recommend a product or service to others.
Interaction and Interface Design are deeply intertwined.
Interface Design
Interface Design is manifesting the Interaction Design process into a tangible asset
with as much attention to detail as possible.
Its quality can be measured, for example in regard
to usability requirements and formal aesthetics, and should constantly be revised.
Today this mostly boils down to a Graphical User Interface, but I have dabbled into systems
beyond the GUI and I'm excitited about designing for what is next.
Prototyping, Hacking, Testing and Iterating
I love building things that others can use and experience first-hand to express my ideas. No
other thing conveys ideas as fast and precise to users or other stakeholders like an interactive
prototype.
I'm confident with all sorts of no-code
tools or web development to build things quickly, but I also love to dive into new or more
advanced tech set-ups and have worked various programming languages.
Thank you for your interest! This website was build from scratch with HTML/CSS/JS and a bit of PHP by myself. Like many other projects, the process was encouraged by the invaluable feedback of Miriam and Matteo and powered by this incredibly delicious Pasta al Limone π
